The schedule was condensed with the start of the Senior Final immediately after the finish of the Juniors. It was still raining, more or less heavily depending on the time. The start saw minimal problems at the first corner, and Bruno Borlido was fighting with Luca Travaglini ahead of Carlos Gil and Zachary Claman Demelo. The ‘slow’ procedure was launched. Nicolas Picot fell to 31st place on the first lap, and Dylan Lahaye did not finish the first lap. Gil took the lead at the restart from Jack Bartholomew and Eduardo Garcia, while Borlido took 5th from Travaglini. Gil got away ahead of Bartholomew, Garcia cut the chicane and lost time. Claman Demelo came back to 3rd ahead of Borlido and Roope Markkanen. Bartholomew came back to the leader, with 4/10 separating them on the 6th of the 18 laps of the race.
Very fast in these low grip conditions, Oliver Askew closed on 3rd place. But Claman-Demelo took 2nd place from Bartholomew, leaving Gil to regain the lead. Akinori Kikuchi was up to 6th position with Harry Webb and Viktor Öberg in his wake. Gil’s lead decreased again. The brawl in the chasing group benefited Borlido who took 3rd, Bartholomew 4th and Askew 5th. Öberg recovered 6th place ahead of Webb and Kikuchi.
After two-thirds of the race, Gil increased the pace and gained a few tenths while the clash raged between the four drivers who were following him. The leader then moved to 1.6” ahead. Borlido and Claman-Demelo were engaged in an epic battle for 2nd place. Picot was able to move up from the back of the pack and now came back much stronger in 21st position. 1.5″ behind Gil, Borlido got away fromClaman Demelo who was now fourth behind Askew. But a bold maneuver gave him back third position, Askew falling to 6th after being forced off the track.
Gil was serenely in the lead until he finished as the winner even though Borlido was pushing behind him. Claman-Demelo was 3rd, Bartholomew 4th and Öberg 5th. Picot eventually finished 24th.
